My Dreams, My Goals, My Future

Hello. My name is Mohamad Fadhlan Miftah Firdaus, nicknamed Fadhlan. I will be 17 years old this year. Now, I am studying in 11th grade at SMA Negeri 3 Bandung. I am the 2nd child in my family. I have one elder sister and one younger sister. They are 19 and 12 years old. My elder sister now studying at one of the university in Purwokerto and my younger sister is in elementary school.
Talk about my strength, I think I didn't have many strengths but someone tell me that my strengths are I still can be calm even when I was under pressure and I was a good listener. Beside my strengths, I also have many weakness that appear oftenly even tough I always try to change it. One of my weakness is I really easy to forget something even it was a important thing. My other weakness is sometimes I can be really lazy and didn’t do anything.
My hobby is listen to music because sometimes music can really express what I feel. I am also like to sleep in my leisure because I can forget and didn’t think at all of my problems for some times.
I have achieved some award and one that I most pride at is when I be the 2nd place in the Angklung Music Competition with my team last year. I really proud with that achievement because me and my team’s effort to win that competition is really big. We already start to prepare everything for that competition from 4 months before it.
In the future, I have a dream to be a doctor. I want to be a doctor because I want to be directly beneficial to many people. Beside that, I always remember that we must prepare everything for the life hereafter. My effort to achieve that dream is keep study so I can get into medical faculty and start to deepen it.

Have you ever smell a scent when the rain is pouring? This “earthy” smell known as petrichor. People usually call it musky or rain's smell. Even though rain itself has no scent. So why it can happen? This smell actually comes from the moistening of the ground. Australian scientists first documented the process of petrichor formation in 1964 and scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology further studied the mechanics of the process in the 2010s. Petrichor is a combination of fragrant chemical compounds. Some are from oils made by plants. The main contributor to petrichor are actinobacteria. These tiny microorganisms can be found in rural and urban areas as well as in marine environments. They decompose dead or decaying organic matter into simple chemical compounds which can then become nutrients for developing plants and other organisms. A byproduct of their activity is an organic compound called geosmin which contributes to the petrichor scent.
